What's Your Soundtrack?
Okay, this was blatantly stolen from The Assimilated Negro, but I thought it was somewhat interesting. Here's the premise:
If your life were a movie, what would the soundtrack be?
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool...
Opening Credits: “The Grind,” Erykah Badu, Worldwide Underground
Waking Up: “No Such Thing,” John Mayer, Room for Squares
First Day at School: “Back to You," John Mayer, Room for Squares
Falling in Love: “In This Life,” Nikka Costa, Butterfly Rocket
Fight Song: “I’m Crazy ‘Bout My Baby,” Marvin Gaye, Motown Classic Hits, Vol. 5
Breaking Up: “The Beast,” The Fugees, The Score
Prom: “Low,” Coldplay, X&Y
Life: “Spanish Grease,” Willie Bobo, Verve Unmixed
Mental Breakdown: “Tsunami,” Res, How I Do
Driving: “Sweet Nothing Serenade (Instrumental),” Ben Harper Both Sides of the Gun, Disc 1
Flashback: “Mind Trick,” Jamie Cullum, Catching Tales
Wedding: “God Loves Me,” Lina, Stranger on Earth
Birth of a Child: “Chariot,” Gavin DeGraw, Chariot [Stripped]"
Final Battle: “Karma,” Alicia Keys, The Diary of Alicia Keys
Death Scene: “One Day Without,” Keren Ann, Nolita
Funeral Song: “Back to the Ground,” Jamie Cullum, Catching Tales
End Credits: “Honey Bee,” Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Couldn't Stand the Weather
Not quite perfect, but some of those random answers are weird. "Back to the Ground" as a Funeral Song? I mean, the song's not about death, but I could see it working for that purpose. "The Grind" for opening credits? Love it. And "Tsunami" as a mental breakdown song is so perfect. It's weird how things just fall into place like that?
