Papa Was a Rollin' Stone

Cripes... After ranting in that last entry, I forgot to even mention what ended up being one of the coolest parts of this weekend. Yesterday morning, while I was curling my hair, I looked in the mirror to see that the "Today Show" was reporting on the Kerry/Edwards bus tour from a certain "HO, NILBUD," which is of course, Dublin, Ohio spelled backwards. That's right: Dublin, the home of upscale suburban snobbery and giant fields of corn was an overnight pitstop for this year's Democratic candidate. Did you notice that the concept drawings for the newest city pool feature a suspicious amount of white people (and only white people)? Gotta love my hometown.

Oh, but that's not all. While driving home from Toledo this weekend (We went to visit some cousins), there were about twenty highway patrol cars straddled about I-75 in a very "Cool Hand Luke" kind of way. Mom thought it was a manhunt for an escaped convict, but it really ended up just being the Kerry/Edwards caravan, motoring from Dublin to Bowling Green for a rally at BGSU. There were like, six different buses surrounded by police cars rolling together in sync. Each bus read either "KERRY-EDWARDS" or "I BELIEVE IN AMERICA" in huge bold print.

I feel like I've been a part of history.
